That's why we build different things.

 If you don't like building things then Minecraft really isn't the game for you. It's like saying an RTS doesn't have enough first-person control. If you are looking for that this type of game isn't gonna be good for you.

Let's just agree to disagree. I think minecraft is a hollow shell of what could be a great game, but it very few features or content which facilitate sustained gameplay. It is less of a game and more of a big sandbox. If you're the type who is amused by a big empty sandbox (which isn't a bad thing) then this is certainly for you.

Once you've visited the nether, the magic wears off a bit. At least it did for me.

To be fair, the nether is as boring as it gets. Now, the real excitement is in building convuluted railway stations Seriously, wasted so many hours doing that.

What I have the most fun with in Minecraft is architecture and buildings. I may not be great at it, but it's damn fun and I love walking around in them.

Precisely. The game has a lot of potential, but it still needs a lot of work.

I've noticed this in the beginning, I just wish there was more features to make me feel addicted. It will be nice if I can make my own set of monster's in this game then what notch have added, not just that but be able to add unique features to them as well. If I make an orc monster, I would add in a feature of clans, that several orc tribes will be warring each other that are not part of their clan.

I see it as too easy to be able to even build up right now, right now all you can do to get started is to find a forest, chop some trees up, make a house nearby a site full of cobblestones or a possible cave, and mine the crap out of it and/or fight all the monster around. I know someday in the future it won't be that easy if you add in some monster that live in the daytime, some monsters will attack each other and attack you but some monster could be friendly enough to defend you from attacks and not only that, probably drop gifts near your doorstep. It might be possible to actually make NPC cities and NPC that can expand, but not all NPC's are friendly, who knows what you might walk into and see 4 bandits that try to rob and take your life.

Darke, theres lots of stuff to build which is important for survival.(and/or rediculous for survival, like a mob farmer)

For instance, do you have an underground farm?

An open-air fort that allows you to hop on and peer over the wall, even in this spider-filled age?

(I find a low, open fortification absolutely vital)

Do you have a pork-dispenser?

Some cake?

Rails to a nearby area, or nether-gates to far away?

Have you glassed in the important thangs?

A small stockpile of diaa-ermonds?

A small stockpile of arrows?

A tree farm?

Have you found a way into the void?

Have you created waterfalls?

Have you made pixel art?

A graveyard?

Created a minecraft recreation of your house?

Have a infinite water source?

Created a redstone warning system?

A panic room?

A calculator?

Nether Tower?

Suicide Towers?

Created a town?

I find it hard to dedicate myself to big ass projects, so i take things slowly and enjoy doing a bunch of these smaller things in the meantime, like building a beach house with a garden and all and at the same time expanding the tunnel system below it, all the while i'm digging out a nearby hill for an underground base entrance trough some waterfalls.
