No point complaining about the price, that part was announced quite a bit ahead of time.

Just because something is announced doesn't mean people can't complain about it.

No, it's the end of the alpha promotion. He offered it cheaper for preorders because he knew that people wouldn't buy it for full price when there's a chance he could just disappear in the night.

It's standard procedure to give a discount for people who buy it early.

People who complain about this might as well go to iHop and berate them for hiking up the price for them just because they aren't old.

If I disconnect from the intertubes then start Minecraft, it won't update when I reconnect, will it?

Is anyone else having severe lag when loading previous saves?  I just tried playing with my ongoing game, and no chunks were loading except the one I was standing in, and the FPS looked like it was around, well, 1.

Also, what's this business in the blog about cloaks and throwing eggs?

I think cloaks are just for minecraft devs, so kinda lame. And throwing eggs is probobly one of those compeltely useless and pointless things that would've been better left unnanounced for people to figure out on their own...

I am sorry, I did not mean the changing of the price,
I an unhappy with the changing of the ToS because I have no ideas what his future plans for minecraft are, I can no longer recommend this to my friends as a good buy because I don't know how much it is gonna cost them to keep up later, I am fine with the changing of the price

After attempting to introduce my siblings to the game, they seemed uninterested in it. Oh well, their loss.

Pretty minor update, really. I probably won't update at all, to preserve my modding. Server-side inventory is a good start, though, it seems like a mediocre thing to kick off the beta with. One more step toward completion, either way.

Anyone know a way to make a mixed Nether/normal world map? I'm trying to get something like nether with islands of normal terrain, and with normal minerals like metal and gold ore scattered through the world. Possibly normal world physics too, I suppose. It'd be nice to have water and working compasses.
