No, sadly the only portals that work are the four by five verticals. Shame, it be interesting to be able to build ones with different dimensions... But hell really feels empty and unfinished at this point, so perhaps there's more to come, eventually. It'd be nice if there were valuable minerals to be found by mining in hell, or some reward to exploration besides getting shot at by ghasts while running around the same basic landscape (even if it is impressive at first).

I'm waiting for the day when liquids will be able to flow through portals. And having animals go through them too. Who wants to start a farm in the Nether?

I want the ability to make portals that I can jump off a cliff into.
Then I shall be complete, Can anyone say sparta pit to hell?

I would still like pits more, instead of killing mobs yourself you throw them into the nether, into a lava lake possibly

I think it would be awesome to have a cart ride that had a grand tour of the Nether and the regular world. Or a waterslide.

This is why we need some kind of boat that can survive in lava.

The world is a sad, boring, unfun place if Bay12 is the only place where people want to surf down a lavaslide.

Not necessarily true. The only problem is that the Minecraft Forums then start an argument on if rock boats can float. And most users will argue one can't because it's made of rock and rock is heavy.

Steel is pretty heavy, and somehow steel boats manage to float. Amazing concept, I know.
