So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

Is anyone finding iron much more common with the new update? I've been diving for diamonds while walking aimlessly all day, i've only found 2 diamonds so far i have, a set of iron armour, gone through half a dozen iron picks, 2 iron swords and yet i still have 17 iron blocks (that's 153 bars!). Maybe i should make myself an iron house in hell once i finally get a diamond pick.

edit: jesus, just as i was admiring my haul i almost walked into a lavapit. Backup time.
edit edit: and a skeleton attacked me while i was in a waterfall.  good thing i made that backup

Are all the new monsters and blocks in The Slip?
How many new block types and monsters are there? I thought there were suppsoed to be five of each, but thus far I've only heard of Ghasts and pigmen and hellstone, goldstone and mudstone.

6 new block types, and I -think- only 2 new mobs, unless there's a secret one that no one's found yet.

I only know of 3 of the new blocks though (assuming pumpkins don't count).

Pumpkins count, forgot about those. I think Jack-O-Lanterns might do. If not then there's still 2 undiscovered blocks.

Genned a new world, found some strange platform thing.

Doing Science with portals.
Creating two portals close to each other in The Slip, by just a few tiles, will create portals of relative position in the normal world but with a much further distance in between.
So theoretically you could make an easy travel network with them.

Also, hellstones makes nice fire pits, bonfires, lighthouses, without being an exploit :)

Typical worldgen bug, very happy to see this kind of stuff hasn't been fixed.  So far I've only seen run of the mill mountains and such.

Saying that's a bug is like asking for it to be removed. It's like removing all the "Is it a bug or is it a feature?" stuff from Dwarf Fort, it just wouldn't be funny any more.

It's not a bug, more of a rare occurence due to code.
Either way it's awesome.
I wanna ride a ghast.
