In the distance you can see that obsidian obelisk I was gathering... well... obsidian for. Each intersection besides the obelisk one has a stone chandelier. I'm just waiting for that conversion to lanterns, hopefully they will look nice on them.

Originally It was just going to be a straight forward staircase that widened on its way down, but then I decided to double the depth of the project, and the balcony setup was adopted.

From up here you can't see things as easily due to the half blocks, but I wanted some protection from falling off that would obscure as little as possible. Below on the obelisk is a modest supply of gold, that'll get larger as I accumulate more, I may also stack diamond blocks on it. This settup is lit by the skylight above, come to think of it I probably could have made a snap shot looking up from ground level, but I'm too lazy to go back.
 Also, it was night when I decided to take this. Meh...

Somewhat of a mess, I decided to keep the natural gravel I found, reason being it seems to provide a nice 'ruined' look.

And the Library hasn't even been started yet.
