If you're low on coal, this could be a lifesaver.

Yeah, I like the idea of the Hotwheels boosters.  But when is anyone ever low on coal?  I get angry at coal because I think it's veins taking up space that the RNG could have given to iron.
This. I barely even waste my pickaxes to mine it.

Maybe I don't mine enough then. I find myself thinking a few full stacks of coal will be enough. If I begin smelting large amounts of ore, making glass, whatever, I always run out.

As long as you are finding iron, use magma to smelt.

Or just use wood and save the more limited resources for more important things. A full stack of logs, turned into wood, will smelt only around a 150 or so (bit less; a full stack of coal smelts 512 blocks, a full stack of logs->wood 372 or blocks, a 140 block difference.) less blocks than a full stack of coal; it's something like 11 logs (To be precise, 44 wood) versus 8 coal to smelt down a full 64 stack. A decent sized tree farm will produce more logs than you know what to do with, probably in less time than it would take for you to dig down to find iron or an equal amount of coal... and you can throw up tree farms where'er you need things smelted without much trouble at all.

Probably have to run a few furnaces in parallel to make things efficient, but that's not exactly a big issue. Go green, dudes, go green1.

1 And then red, when you set the farm's leaves on fire. Firefirefirefirefire...

Buy it now, while it's still in Alpha.
He'll be increasing the price gradually as it stabilizes and advances through the dev. cycle.

EDIT: Having issues with the latest snapshot of c10t.
Will be adding isometric views to the Maps page as soon as I get this resolved.

I just want to thank everybody involved for making Jaycraft into what it is now.
I might not have the greatest uptime/downtime ratio, and we might not have the greatest constructions ever, but I do have a wonderful playerbase.

I have over 3400 units of stone amassed.  I'm also routinely getting lost in my own mines.  I'll theoretically need more wood soon, but I suppose I would do well to add signs to my digging instead of relying entirely on my memory and horrible sense of direction.

At any rate, I supposes it's time to start on my castle.  First, digging all the dirt off the island.  I'm a very meticulous builder.

I didn't think to use wood sticks to power the furnaces. I kept using up my coal for the. I did notice something however:

2 Sticks = 1 item processed
1 Coal = 8 items processed
1 magma = I don't know.

Hmm I totally did not know you could use magma as furnace fuel. This will likely change my torch usage greatly.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I think in multiplayer a bug causes the bucket to disappear as well, which makes it not worth it. Works fine singleplayer.

I thought magma was 100.
I would assume 128 items would be processed considering the binary trend.

Nah, it's a hundred. Wiki mentions that if you want to get maximum efficiency, you have to stick an additional 36 ore in halfway through the smelting.
