If you don't mind large files OverViewer is a visualizer almost no one uses, but it's probably the best for sharing with others.

http://smp.em32.net/map/ is an example map. Check out the zoom on that thing.

Some of the maps can produce 100+MB images though.

I can't really tell if this is annoying or awesome, but...

When you're spelunking, if the cavern branch you're in goes far enough (and you've got render set to normal or less), the render-fog in the distance looks pretty much exactly like light glow. I found myself compulsively moving toward the 'light', thinking it was another lava flow or, by some miracle, a natural surface exit.

I really think I'm gonna actually buy the game soon.
Some of these mods sound really cool.

I could never build Cartographer. Now that I actually take some time to do the research, it turns out that corona.h isn't missing. I have to install corona separately.

I must say, this may be better than the mapper I was using.

Cartographer's Isometric mode is really the gem of the program. Nothing does that level of detail. If only it would work with skylands =\.

Any particular error message, or is it a blackscreen crash, or...?

I can't connect to lap's server, so I'll be working on multiplayer.
Since I have nothing better to do, livestream is now online for a while!

I took the server down to hunt down that crazy corrupted chunk. I found it finally after using a full OverViewer scan. Even after I replaced it cartographer still wouldn't process it. Oh well. Only downside of not being able to use Cartographer is that block modifiers like flowers and torches are not shown. This probably has a better zoom function though anyways.

Server's back up.

=( Anyone have a version of pngcrush for 64-bit Windows. I can't find where I put my compiler.

You can guess how it went.

You spawn where you last were, since the server borked you might have been moved by it.

Nah head was totally right. When I saved in one of the more inferior editors it reset the spawn to 0,0,0, which is empty space. I put the spawn back. All is well.

I also updated to the latest version of Zicore's. This version implements some amazing zone features.

With the zone features we can

-Have zones that no one can build in or destroy.
-Have zones that only one or more people can build in or destroy.
-Give welcome messages on entering a new zone.

An example would be to have the Wastes have their own group. Everyone in the group could work together, while still letting other people watch what's going on. No need to hide teleporters in this situation.

Another more simple example is just having your own house where only you can do stuff.
