This is my skin.
It is a starving old man wearing nothing but a pair of shiny black underoos, and an eyepatch.
His hair is very stylish.

How do you get that extra layer over the face?

Thanks for pointing that one out. I've removed it.

Couple things...
1. I removed the IP from where I quoted PTTG??

2. New skin using that overlay:

3. I wanted to know how trapping or boxing in animals works, do they get loaded out of memory or just cease to exist after a while? Will they breed? IE: Can I catch two cows or pigs and come back later and have 3 cows or pigs?

4. Do you guys prefer farming wheat for bread, or hunting pigs?

3. they disappear fast, and no breeding. they spawn in herds

4. neither, as i rarely get hurt. mushrooms or the occasional pig i encounter suffice but farming would probably be more reliable.

I stockpile pork but eventually I get around to getting wheat, too.

It's a moot point, of course, since I have tons of roast pork by that time, but it's nice to have big 'ol chests full of bread and not to have to worry about any injury at all.

I know what you mean, I just finished hollowing out the top half of a mountain, built my base and made a farm, 1 full crop fills 2 double chests...

Quote from: notch
several minor but frequently requested updates.
=
Quote from: notch
+ Added server-side inventory
+ Made the server save player locations when they leave the server
+ Made chests work in SMP
+ Made signs work in SMP
+ Made furnaces work in SMP
+ Added monsters=false to server.properties. You can turn it on for experimental monsters, but you can’t hurt them directly yet. (Fire works, though!)

Oh notch you silly bugger.

All that remains to be implemented now is working combat, which will apparently be implemented next week.
I am beginning to suspect that notch is, in fact, a cyborg.

I was wondering if anyone could explain how to make an SMP server. Like, step by step. Absolute newb's guide.

My friends wanted me to host a little server between us, but I don't know how to make it work/get an IP.

Then again, I'm not really sure I'll be able to handle running a server. But I'll worry about that later.

http://www.minecraft.net/download.jsp
Download "Minecraft_Server.exe"
Run it.
http://www.whatismyip.com/
Tell your friends to connect to the IP that site tells you.

To play in the server on the host machine, run minecraft.exe (downloaded separately) and connect to 127.0.0.1

Compasses are incredibly useful now that you don't go to spawn every time you connect.  They point straight to spawn, and work at all times, even if in inventory or in a chest.

So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

Yeesh, my underground area is taking forever to dig out. I promise it will be epic when I finish it though...

World Map: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/4648/map1obliqueangleday.png
Cave Mode: http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1182/map1obliqueanglecaveday.png

The giant green brick in the middle is the project. It is currently half as deep as intended and there will be ANOTHER section roughly 2/3rds the size, just as deep if not more, to be added to the lower left edge.
The diamond shaped cut out is not shown because there is a skylight and cartograph doesn't show it in cave mode.
