Notch programming timelapse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV-AFnCkRLY
I told you guys, he is a programming god.
That is uncut footage taken from his stream that was up for the entirety of LD.
Saw this earlier, didn't even know it was Notch who was the one programming.  Now I know.

It's really good even moreso for a 48 hour game, if he was making Roguelikes... :o

As long as I'm posting...
Jaycraft is staying down for the moment, as he seems to have created numerous new bugs.

Nothing against Notch's skill, but this is LD. Every participiant works CRAZY for the 48 hours he has. On tubes are more lapses like this. Very interesting.

So Notch is gonna be in Seattle. He's gonna do a little meet up.
I wonder if Toady would consider coming out as well.

Gaaad, I wish I'd handled my passport after I missed the last DF meet up.
Dammit.

All right, Minecrafting DFers. Let's crash MineCon and just play some hardcore DF at the place in the middle of the convention.

I'm playing today and with the RPG texture pack it got me thinking. I was looking at how the blocks would light up with the torches and I had a sudden realization. It looked exactly like x-com.

So here's what I had in mind. Once minecraft is more modable with weapons, we should totally have a multiplayer x-com survival mod. Specially if we have access to the npc city generation notch is making, we could set it to make cities for friendly NPCs and then have aliens attack and the place and our mission is to go there and kill them all with as little friendly kills as possible. The other mode would be building a base and having to fend off aliens, similar to a zombie attack mode.

the lighting system seems to be similar to multiple isometric games, such as xcom or Jagged alliance.

Finally decided to download the offline version now that the site was going down for extra periods.

My laptop with java and not ultra-slow internet has been fixed!!!
And there has only been...1 secret update. Sadness!

Anyways, once multiplayer works (well), I shall make myself a little cottage with a farm. I shall then sell homemade bread. All pigs shall be slaughtered on site, as bacon is disgusting, and it increases the supply for bread. Muahahah.

Now, to create epic plans for my HUGE bread farm.
