How wide are your paths? A 2 wide path with posts every 6-8 meters on the side with torches on top will pretty much ensure that you don't get into a fight.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Yeah, the first night(s) is(are) terrifying. Then it gets pretty easy to just stay in your compound, mining, or else at your well-lit megastructure.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to playing with bricks. I wonder if you get something if you try to make a forge out of bricks instead of stone. Maybe an oven, which can't cook ores or anything, but has several slots for food-cooking. Or something. I'd be happy with a fireplace for light or something.

Anybody find out what slime's good for?

The new leaf textures look ugly. I liked the old ones.

Looks the same to me. Sure you didn't accidentally turn the graphics from fancy to fast?

Is it just me, or does every update make it a little more dangerous to do anything at night besides huddle in a walled-up hole and pray for the sunlight?  Not that the sunlight is entirely helpful, since just walking out of my hut, I had to fight off six creepers and four spiders who got aggro'd in the process.  I never realized just how much creepers blend into foliage.
I don't know about you, but it's making hunting even more fun for me.
i don't know about you guys, but i play on peaceful.

I don't know about you, but I heard a vicious rumour that the new Slime mobs are slightly buggy. Apparently, they spawn even on Peaceful.

Good luck!  ;D

right. like a common candidate for "most overused and easy enemy ever" would be scary.

It doesn't seem the slime balls do anything yet, or at least it hasn't been discovered. The other thing is clay, which can be found around water(?) and sand. Put it in the furnace to create bricks, which can then be crafted into brick blocks (2x2 I think).

Also, tiny slimes are the best!

p.s Slimes do spawn/respawn in light, Notch mentioned adding a mob that wasn't afraid of light, I guess this is it.

Do the tiny slimes hurt you? I'm looking forward to keeping a bunch of them under my glass floor.

No, the smallest ones move toward you and push you around, but don't hurt. They're great pets ;D

They break off from the bigger ones, it's unclear whether it's a random thing or dependent on fire. Some have said they split when burnt but not from swords. I've definitely seen them split from fire personally, but not sure about any other attacks.

Well, I just watched a video where a guy was attacking them with a sword and they split, so yeah, I'd say any damage probably does the same thing.

I wonder what happens when they hit lava.  Perhaps a rapid explosion of ever smaller slimes?

Did this always happen with water?
