red stuff will be useful in multiplayer, especially with infinite map
we could build a continent spanning telegraph.

I like the telegraph idea. It would need to be underground, I think.

Singal Lag could be a problem.

What might be interesting is to make a whole keyboard-like array of buttons, right, that sends the code automatically. And a display, too, I guess.

Hmm... A lot of sandboxes let you build little computers within them. Minecraft may be the first with a little internet.

Your ultimate problem is that somone would, at all times, need to be within range of all the chunks the wire passes through.

Not if it's more than 300 spaces. Then you need players constantly between them, lest the grue eats the signals in the dark unloaded chunks..
I'll get a pic of mt castle sometime soon. Waterslide FTW!

Ah, learned about cows yesterday. What do they do?

Actually, my cousin who I was introducing to minecraft found them. They were like "COME QUICK THERE IS A COW!"
Needless to say, I told them there were no cows, and to let me build in peace. Then I looked over at her screen  :o

Anything else new? Can we get milk?

Kill them for leather, it's how you make clothes now. (Besides armor with steel/gold/diamond)

And about that movie, anyone know what that song is? I want it.

When multiplayer comes out, I want to build a bank. It would be a place where nomadic players could keep their stuff, and I would offer more secure storage for those with houses.

The idea is that there is a keypad of some sort, inside a booth (so no one can see you entering your combination); the signal from the keypad booth is sent into your vault and, if you entered it correctly, the door(s) to your vault will open. I'd like to subcontract a logic gate expert because, ideally, there would only be one keypad booth (to save space), and you would pull a lever outside the keypad booth to select which vault you want the signal sent to.

Beyond the basic vault setup, I'm thinking there could be additional security options for those that want extra protection. If we get floodgates, a failed combination could return a signal to the keypad booth that will lock the player in and flood them with either magma or water. Some vaults could require a bank manager to input a separate combination in another booth (not recommended if you ever want to actually access your valuables, as I couldn't guarantee a manager would ever be on, or that I would hire them).

Interesting idea for the bank. I myself plotted out a keypad-and-pressure-plate-door-lock, where if you tamper with the plate or step on it with the wrong key, you're flooded with magma.

'Course, the builder'll still end up with swiss cheese walls, but the door will be foolproof.

And that is why I have a plan for something a bit more nautical.

Nautical Eh?

Seems to me a good way to do things (assuming an infinite map.) Would be to have your actual storage facility far away from the business end, and well hidden. While it might take a bit of a wait to retrieve all of your goods (Though the banks should still have some amount of things on hand.) It reduces risk.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.
