An extremely cubic live-in MMO cross between Event Horizon and Resident Evil?  Sounds great to me.

So, I just joined the Minecraft forums to make a simple suggestions.  Reading around at some other posts, I already feel dirtier.
You get used to it. Eventually you make friends, and these friends tell their friends about you. Then you make friends with them. And then you get people worshipping you, making cults, etc.
It's a tough life, but a rewarding one.

It's a tough life, but a rewarding one.

For some reason, I seem to be painfully familiar with that last part of the cycle.  Anyway, I got one positive reply already.  Things are looking good.

Eh, Spelunking can be a bit frightening. Ravenholm wasn't too scary though. In caves you can have branching paths, where, no matter which one you go into, you risk putting your back to some baddies, Ravenholm, not so much.

EDIT: Plus, In Half-Life, You have guns!

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

God damn was Ravenholm scary. I ended up going 100 save numbers ahead because of it.

Scaryiest thing in Minecraft? Back when he was adding mobs to infdev, they where creepy enough on the surface.
 
After hours of creeping around in the then-abandoned caves, I was scared out of my wits by this huge, moving frog-being until I realized what it was.

I got surprised by mobs in the new updates, just because I was so used to caves being virtually harmless.  Once in a blue moon I'd run into some spiders or something underground, either from a spawner or a glitch.  Then I play the newer versions.  Suddenly skeletons.  Thousands of them.  Holy shit.

If you ask me, skelingtons should be somewhat weaker health-wise and do more damage or possibly have greater range or accuaracy. Then the challenge becomes to get in close and smack them quickly, focusing on the interesting, skillful part of the combat; running in and dodging the arrows until you get close enough.
 
You'd still have no choice but to run for your pixelated life if a really big force shows up.

...That's what you already have to do.  That's why I hate skeletons so much, their accuracy and the speed they can fire at are deadly in the confines of a cave, where you have no room to dodge and hangups and pitfalls abound.

That rubber band sound of an arrow being fired can send me into a blind panic when I know I'm in a poor defensive position, like walking along a narrow path over a large dark room.  Not as much of a panic as seeing red eyes appear in the shadows, but it's amazing how nerve-wracking being shot at can be when you already expect to be shot at.

Well, the usually when I encounter skeletons I have the good fortune for them to be around a corner, which makes their arrows useless. On an open plain I can avoid arrows at relatively short range, but once I'm in sword range, they'll hit every time.

Skeletons are a pain to deal with an en masse, suicide to try and take on. Zombies are almost pathetically easy, though.

UNLESS said zombies get you trapped in a corner. Two zombies, a corner, and you're doomed.
 
Most of the time, I'm pretty easy going about monsters and dying. But when I've got two steel picks, a couple of diamonds, and 256 or so units of coal in my backpack, then things get tense.
