It seems I can't play on a snowy map for long without the game freezing... damn it. >.< Kinda killed my mood to play for right now, too...

How do you get Work Benches to work exactly?  I created one and my crafting area is still 2x2.

Right click the bench to access the 3x3 crafting area. Same applies with chests and furnaces.

The snow is only determined randomly when you start a new world.

It took me around 10 worlds to get my first snowy one. Alternatively use NBTedit and change the line snowcovered to 1.
