I'm still rather torn. Toady takes a little while in getting some cool releases out, aiming for a cool fantasy world simulator. Notch wants a multiplayer survival experience. The B12 Forums are a nice place to be, granting me many years of enjoyment. The Minecraft forums... Blah.

I couldn't participate in any real battle between them, other than pointing out flaws in the arguments of the members of the Minecraft community and raising some defensive arguments for them in opposition to the B12 advance.

I would probably buy it if they took Ultimate Game Cards :P
Online purchases require yelling at the parents that I would like to use their card. This would probably require convincing one of them to like Minecraft as well. The last time I brought something up it took forever to convince them it wasn't a scam. Just...meh.

SMP posted 2Realistic.
It is a 2048x2048 file, so will require the downloadable client and an edited class file.
terrain.png
And the class file edit:
Quote
Link.  delete META-INF in the .jar file and play in standalone client. You get to choose how much to allocate though - just rename either the 32MB, 300MB, or 780MB (almost guaranteed broken) file to ik.class before dragging it in.
I would suggest using the 32 MB.
It's going to be glitchy regardless until Notch fixes support himself, so there's that.
I don't think he updated water, so you'll get purple/pink squares instead.

Times like these I wish I had an SA account...
I see you over there, asking a question I already answered here...
Everything I posted about up there refers to within the minecraft.jar file.
Open it up with WinRAR.
Delete META-INF.
Drag the ik.class you renamed into it.
Drag terrain.png into it.
???
Profit.

Wait, the game isn't limiting its speed?

Notch has had large FPS and he didn't have speed issues.

Nevermind. They say that it's my system clock on the MC forums, but I think it's my dual cores since if I set MC to use only one core the speed issue is fixed.

Man, even Janet loves Minecraft?  Is there anyone here who isn't playing it yet?  I'm still burned out on Dwarf Fortress for special reasons, but I still love it as much as Minecraft, because they're kinda two perspectives on the same concept.  And I love them both the same way I love The Road Warrior, I may only watch it once in a blue moon, but that doesn't diminish my enjoyment or support.

And yeah, that's a wacky forum they got going over there.

I don't have a problem with politically incorrect jokes. I do have a problem when I'm trying to get useful information and it's given immature names.
