http://notch.tumblr.com/post/773786850/all-the-boring-parts-are-done

I don't know a whole lot about how programs work, but that sounds both impressive and a little scary.  It sounds like the program is able to send and receive packets of map data between clients, and updates each other's maps on the fly, but that if it doesn't have complete information it just kinda guesses until it gets new data?  I'm not sure exactly what it means.  But that sounds like you could be going along and the ground changes or something.  Not to mention that without dedicated offsite servers, whoever's hosting the map, or anyone who even has access to the map if the program relies on checking other maps to verify itself, could royally fuck everything up with a memory editor.

I'm probably understanding this totally wrong and inventing all kinds of problems that don't exist.  The important part is that it means Multiplayer Alpha (that's what it's called now right?) could be just a few days away.

I think all he's saying is that it has a chronological order.
I.e if someone builds something, removes, then builds, it will wait until all the actions are done before updating, thus skipping menial steps? I'm completely wrong, probably.
But yeah, since he said that'd take a while I'm hopeful.

Also yeah you gotz ta survive.

Some of us have to work. (Example would be me)
