Oh yeah, I forgot, the way terrain gens is somewhat more different in that it is now VERY VERY unlikely to find a desert next to an ice plain.

The biomes are now divided into four temperature categories and when placing biomes the bigger the distance between the categories the less likely such a biome will be placed (e.g. you might get a jungle next to a desert, or a temperate taiga next to an ice plain, but a jungle next to an ice plain is unlikely).

I don't think taigas can be temperate, actually...

I couldn't find the right word. What I meant is snowless Taiga. There are two versions of it now, one with and one without snow.

It doesn't let you directly modify files, for one.

Heh, I remember back in ye olden early Beta days (I know, I know, there was the whole Alpha and before, but I started in Beta 1.1_02) when cloud level was at 127 or so.

I've gotten a mod called... Opti-fine (I think?) which adds an option to turn clouds off, also a number of other things to improve loading and so on.

If I could afford it I would pay. However, I can't. I also can't play online, and so am not part of their server costs. Me getting the game in this form has merely persuaded me to get the full game when i eventually have the money spare.
