I've always wanted to play a Hunger game where you can break stuff, like a dig a little home and such, mine stone, chop down trees.
Pretty much vanilla minecraft but you can get a sword in your back when you go hunting, and there is a sphere surrounding the chunk of land your in(which goes underground).
Of course, people can just hide in a hole with a bunch of food, but I'm thinking that if there isn't at least one death, or its the last 3/5/7 people then the admins teleport everyone to the cornucopia, or some other premade arena place.

You would probably like the Ultra Hardcore season that the Mindcrack server does. They've got seven seasons of it on Youtube if you want to check it out. The only real difference between UHC and Hunger Games (besides mining, breaking blocks, and building) is that there isn't a Cornucopia.

Are animal spawn conditions more strict in the newest weekly version? I've been searching for days for a sheep or cow and I've only seen one cow. Dozens of pigs and a few chickens though.

Also caves are annoying. Fall in, take damage, get killed by creeper. Find where I died, fight off three skeletons and a creeper. In front of me are three zombies, behind me are two zombies and three skeletons. I can't even get leather armor because I can't find any cows.

Wow, in the new snapshot, you get experience for EVERYTHING now. Three days in, not even a proper house yet, and I am ALREADY at level 34.

That's the cap for enchantment levels. There's no limit to the levels of experience you can hold as far as I know.

Level 100 enchantments are fun though. Killing a single pig and getting an inventory full of meat.

Okay, so I took the bug that makes sheep and cows ridiculously rare and went "ANIMAL BREEDING!"

I only needed two of each, now I've got a (slow but) steady supply of all the crap I need.

Is animal breeding still the manual pain in the ass it's always been? (give food to one, give food to another, they kiss... out comes baby)?  I'd prefer if proximity and time was the primary motivator for mating... I mean, I don't have to feed cats in the neighborhood for them to pop out kittens.

I prefer it the way it is now because I can control the population. I'd rather not come back from mining to find a singularity of cow in my breeding pens.

   It would be fairly easy to control. Just say that animals have a random chance to breed if there is another in the same chunk and they are close together unless there are # or greater in said chunk. Of course you could still override this with hand breeding but it would at least it would mean not as much hands on stuff.
