You mean simple to people who have an extremely good understanding of the technic pack, right? Because I understood fuck all about that.
Well it's not the technic pack per say, just my mod pack running on my server.
Energy collectors are from Equivalent Exchange and they take ambient light and slowly generate EMC(Energy-Mass Credit). They can pass this EMC to another Equivalent Exchange mod machine such as the Energy Condenser. Condensers take EMC and apply them towards building the targeted item (the item placed in the target slot when you open it). Every time they are given the amount of EMC it takes to make one item, the item is dropped into the condenser's inventory and it starts collecting EMC for the next. The condenser acts like a chest with a rather large inventory, but anything you store in there other than the targeted item is eaten and converted to EMC for building more targeted items.
Transposers are a machine from Redpower 2. They will do one of 3 things:
1. Anything falling onto the 'open' side of a transposer is spat out the other side. This is useful for routing items into tubes which can then carry them into chests or other machines.
2. If pulsed with redstone, they will pull in any loose items in a 3x2 tile space out from the 'open' side. This is nice for gathering items from an area, like a mob grinder output. These items are also spat out the back or into tubes attached to the back.
3. If the 'open' side is against a block with an inventory such as a chest and the transposer is pulsed with redstone power, it will pull a single item from the chest and spit it out the back/into a tube.
So I have the collector gathering energy from the sunlight during the day and passing it to the condenser, the condenser slowly making that energy into fuel (charcoal in this case), and a transposer pulling the charcoal out of the condenser and spitting it into a set of pneumatic tubes.
Redpower tubes are smart routing. They will only send items to a place where there is room for them. I have the tubes hooked to the back of a Buildcraft mod steam engine, which burns items like wood or charcoal to output power. I also have the tubes running all the way back to my house into a chest there. The tube system will route items to the closest available inventory which will accept them, so in this case every piece of fuel first checks the engine to see if it is full. If it is not full it sends the fuel to the engine. If it is already full, it sends it back to my house to be processed in my sorting machine.
The sorting machine is an amalgam of several machine blocks and tubes which sorts items into different chests and any excess items are sent into a 'trash' chest. That trash chest has a power item from Equivalent Exchange called a Gem of Eternal Density. Any item that lands in the chest with the gem in it is compacted down into more valuable materials. For example if I put a bunch of iron into there it would compact it down into a few gold ingots. If I dumped a shitlot of cobblestone in it would take the EMC value of all the cobblestone and make more expensive material like clay or even iron if I dropped enough. (Iron is ~250 or so EMC and cobblestone is 1 so it takes a lot of stone to make even 1 iron.)
The engine I mentioned runs whenever it has fuel and is powering a large machine called a quarry. The quarry builds a framework around an area and then mines it automatically with a cutting arm which runs back and forth over the landscape digging up any tile it hits but it requires a lot of power to function. The output of the quarry also goes back to my sorting machine and trash chests.
