1.2.2 is out: fixes birches and pines.

Is no one else excited about the Anvil map format? I'm getting planehacked updated right now.

That's the main part of the update, for me at least.
Now to wait a while until ALL my mods update. And Bukkit ports are made.

1.2.2 is out: fixes birches and pines.

Updated Minecraft to 1.2.2 because birches and pine trees were missing. Birches love pine trees.

I'm just glad they nabbed Herobrine after not being able to find him in the last few versions.

Mobs are not hurt by sunlight.

wow, talking about regressions. they should really get out their 'alpha quality' mentality. at least minimal testing should be there, shouldn't it?

I don't mind bugs either.

but having a regression of this kind shows a lot of disrespect for quality in general.

another example:

If a player builds to the height limit, and stands on top of that structure, the game will go to dirt screen, save chunks, and freeze.

this looks like the first thing you should test out when you increase the height of the game map.

Yea, some of these bugs I see make me feel like... did you even check this? XD

Toady included. Releases a huge Adventure Mode update, yet doesn't notice the game crashes every time you start a conversation on a good number of worlds. I guess he could of just gotten (un)lucky and only generated working worlds...

OR he is one person and not that much time. Well, two, with Zach also testing.
That bug may have been a regression bug as well.
But Mojang >=7, so they don't have that excuse.

 My only real complaint is not releasing the last snapshot around a week before releasing 1.2. Perhaps they had an internal schedule to conform to? Perhaps their computers, made for extreme optimization of development, won't show up the same errors as us plebs? Or maybe with their small staff they can't really devote their time to playtesting? It's why playtesters have a completely separated job from programmers after all.

 Still issues that the snapshots should help out with, even if it does carry its own problem of 90% of players using them are playing singleplayer and not multiplayer where a majority of bogs show up.

Toady didn't release nightly to a wide audience, didn't slap a 'it is done' label on the program and doesn't profit on sales. Just saying.

What I more meant was is that available now or is just the initial frameworks? Are the 4000 block ids available as of now?
