has the memory thingy been fixed in the most recent technic pack?
I couldnt play it for 5 mins without it crashing from well over 1 gig of memory being used.
it'd run smoothly until 3 mins in, then lag like fuck. after about 5 mins, it's say MC ran out of memory.

It was fixed recently I believe.

I hope so.

I run XP and have 2gig RAM.

...I've gotta find some more DDR2 RAM... I'm just too lazy to go out and buy it but it's driving me nuts! RAM seems to be the only bottleneck I regularly hit on this system...

I HAVE 1 GIG OF DDR400 (DDR1) RAM WITH A 20 GB HDD AND WINXP.
If you're complaining about slowness, go play with a Commodore 64 and welcome back your old, "slow" computer.

P.P.S. I run minecraft with a fuckton of mods and OptiFine. I get 7 FPS - it's good enough for playing

It should also be noted that DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3 are incompatible with each other, for the most part.

Bah, all you fancy types and your gigs! Until recently the computer I had did not even have a gig of Ram and was not even from this decade.

I'm this this same exact boat. Nobody sells DDR2 anymore and I don't have the cash to shell out for a new motherboard. You can't even find decent cheap motherboards with like 8 USB slots.

 And yeah, it runs everything fine. Borderlands, Skyrim, Minecraft, TFtoo, all hovering above 40fps most of the time with a few hiccups.
