Anyone try the solar survival map? It's pretty good, imho. An airship would probably be useful though, as building bridges between planets just looks ugly.

Biosphere mod with glass and bridges disabled is pretty awesome for airship maps, I'll have to try that one out though.

Zeppelin mod.

Go into the biosphere config and set the bridge and dome values to 0, that will get you tons of what are essentially floating islands.

That looks like it might work. There should be just enough iron in the Earth to craft the steering block.

The biospheres have a ton of resources in them, I was able to get a fully functioning set of basic industrialcraft machines when I last played.

You need to go to Mercury or something to find a decent stash of iron ore. Earth has maybe three blocks, the Moon has two, and Venus has none at all (but some gold).

Testing some new additions to my mod pack now. I know only a few people use it, are you guys getting annoyed at seeing stuff here about it? If it's becoming a nuisance I could make a new thread I suppose, I just haven't because there isn't all that much interest.

So far I've added the redpower module for Not Enough Items, updated to Buildcraft 2.2.11, added in Buildcraft Additional Pipes and Logistics Pipes. Still testing all of this but it seems to be fine so far. I'll probably do a new release tonight.

Edit: Holy crap Logistics pipes are awesome. I have a manufactorum set up which can build any buildcraft or IC2 items now. All I have to do is right click a nearby logistics pipe with the remote ordering tool and select what I want from the list. If I don't have enough material it will tell me exactly what is missing. The machine can macerate and refine all ores, make its own coal dust, cook cobble into stone, sand into glass or iron into refined iron. Its great.
