I guess you'd want something that sends a pulse to each piston, one after another every time you press it? Basically an on-off switch.

Actually I just remember that you could just use a single sticky piston for the door man how stupid do I have to be I used that myself.

NOT gate.

That is all you need.

Hook up the button with a redstone torch and then lead the redstone signal to the door. When the button is pressed, the door opens.
He asked for a piston door.
He stated he already knew how to make a piston door.

And besides, you wouldnt need the torch if you want to do it with a regular door.

Ok, how about something a bit more advanced than simple?
like.. circuitry and stuff.. It's about time I learnt advanced use of redstone any way.  :P
So you want it more complicated despite the fact that you can do it simply? You want to complicate it for no reason other than you want more work? Is that a beard peeking out from your shirt Mr. Dwarf?

Well I am building something similar to a Dwarven fortress.. <_<
But I guess simple might be better.. Unless I want doors with alarms and such to be triggered when entering.  :P
But that's might be for a different time tough..

edit: ok.. howabout turning off and on a redstone torch?
Not with a lever but a button.
nevermind..  lever as well, in case I need to know.

Can't do it with just one button. However you can extend (not delay) the button's duration for as long as you want, required you have the space.

And I don't get the type of door you want. Do you want a hidden one, that uses pistons to open it? Do you want those pistons to be 100% hidden?

The latter I guess.
Shoudl not be visible from both sides.
What I want, is a mechanism that is already closed (extended sticky piston), and to open it for a few seconds you push a button (sticky piston withdraws).
I hope I made it clear this time.  :P

I have attempted several times now without any luck, and googling only gives me vids of the process, I do not want to waste my internet on video tutorials, when simple text and pictures could do this for me.

Actually I could imagine it being possible with one button, but that'd require an elaborate system of pistons and a latch.

Shouldn't be hard to conceal in a wall.

It stays open for long enough to get through, I think that's as compact as I can make it.

You can put in some repeaters (and have to if the redstone circuit's too long).

Actually, the repeater on top probably isn't necessary. I had a much more fail version of that beforehand, which had about 12 extra redstone wires.

Too bad that it's a compact version i so need.. Since rooms are everywhere around the hidden door..

Notch, why do you need to complicate stuff for us?

Blargh! I need to put my mind on something else before I go crazy..
Maybe some Skyrim will cool my brain down a bit..

Hmm.. that might do it, thanks.
Altough I need to do something else for a while first, I am seeing redstone everywhere now.
