Sirus, if you're playing a hardmode map with mods, its not for having fun playing the map. Its for having fun breaking the map with said mods.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

It is pretty fun playing hardmode maps with mods, just to see how horribly you can break them.
Doesn't that just take all the meaning out of it?

I have the Infernal Sky map. When I built a bridge to a wool chest using blocks of sandstone I crafted myself, it felt good! A portal gun would have taken all the fun out.
On my skyblock challenge map I made the water/lava into a cobblestone generator and laddered some cobble up into redstone/iron until I had enough to make a fully automated cobble generator. That cobble was put into a chest by a redpower block breaker + tube and I would check in periodically to ladder it all up into materials for building out the island.

Was ridiculous and yet still fun.

And now we know how new worlds are generated when you click the generate button. Steve loads into a skyblock with an alchemist's stone and goes to work!

This, the point isn't to try and play the map, it's to see exactly how horribly you can break it.

Has anyone tried the City Construction Challenge?

So far, I've had some fun working my way up to stage 3. I'm sure it would be a lot more fun if it weren't just myself, however.

The monster farm should make them fall just enough for them to die to one hit. You want that exp after all.

Don't care about exp. There are no diamonds, and just barely enough obsidian to make a nether portal, so no enchanting.

Would so be up to it if someone hosted a Server for it...

So I need some redstone help..
I know how to make a simple piston door,
but I need too know how to make a closed one open with the bush of a button.
Also, I do not wnat to watch any video tutorials, simple explanations plus pictures works best for me.

NOT gate.

That is all you need.

Hook up the button with a redstone torch and then lead the redstone signal to the door. When the button is pressed, the door opens.

Hmm.. looks a bit too simple.. I wanted to have the actual pistons hidden from view.
Besides, this looks like something I already knew of.

Never said anything about simple :P

You can move the left piston one block further to the left, and make it sticky. Then attach a block to it and you can't see it anymore.

Ok, how about something a bit more advanced than simple?
like.. circuitry and stuff.. It's about time I learnt advanced use of redstone any way.  :P
