Skill points as in?

There are levels, which are used for enchanting.

No skill system, experience gained from fallen mobs is used for enchanting. It's a system that could use some tweaks, but it's not as bad as people make it out.

Of course the top-level enchants are gonna be hard to get, there are just fine levels you can have without explicitly grinding for them.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Alblaka really does sound like a dickwipe.
I bet he's the kind of guy that would try to sue mojang if they added his mod to the full game (they won't, but if they did...)

Yet he claims in his addon diatribe that "any addons made by third party are his to include in any future versions as he sees fits, and you might have the honor of being asked to join his team" or whatever.

I'm surprised he doesn't claim he owns Minecraft because he's modded it.

Plus basically telling people that disagreed with him that he was going to put them in a blacklist in the mod code so they couldn't play the mod.

I can see some purpose to adding some nice simple mods, like stone fences.

To be honest, I'll probably end up adding some simple mods eventually. Right now I'm just waiting for that performance boosting mod to be upgraded, so I can actually get decent FPS. Trying to hit skeletons at 10-15 FPS is MURDER.

Can anyone suggest any pseudochallenge things to make gameplay more interesting?

I've only got not using buckets to move source blocks and no more than 5 blocks without a support holding them up.

Just the normal "no strip mining, go caving for everything, no use of F3".  Also, for SIMPLE modding stuff: always night time.

Just wanna remark on its reviews.
I mean, 97 at Metacritic?! That's better than Skyrim and Half Life 2! If it stays there, it'll be one of the highest ranked games ever made.
Good job, Notch.

1.0 works btter to me than 1.8, but I'm on mac and there was some aknowledge performance bug resolved regarding opengl or something.

Eloraam seems pretty nice, she makes the Redpower mod.
She is a really nice person. I remember reading some of her reactions to the Technic Pack thing and her responses made me really respect her.
Link?

I can back this up but yah, not wading through the something awful MC modding threads to find the references. I think she got really happy with Technic when people donated to her more money than she'd ever made through adfly and donations  combined. Also she's a freaking genius.
