Note that ICē has a recipe for glowstone dust, so you don't need to visit the Nether.  Just one of the ways that MC+ICē+EE is imba.

The recipe you're talking about takes 5 redstone dust and 4 gold dust to make ONE glowstone dust. That means to make the 4 you need for the stone you need 4 gold bars and 10 redstone dust. Its easier and quicker to just cast a portal with water and a few buckets of lava.

Whats the IC2 recipe? If it requires diamond then it makes no difference and nichaeys pompousness is justified.

Recipe is 5 redstone dust in an X pattern and 4 gold dust in the empty spaces.

Because going to the nether to collect glowstone is that difficult?

I just did in my latest game. Dug down to bedrock and made a portal.

The exit portal was in The Nether at height 116, over an ocean of lava (ocean was at height 30 ish). Took me a while to fill down a column of sand and I'm just beginning to make my tower. Eventually I'll make a bridge I guess, and get to land.

Obviously I had to turn on peaceful mode

Couldnt you just mine out the obsidian and create a new portal elsewhere? Or would it take you to the same spot..

Well this sucks. Just found out glowstone aggregators aren't in EE anymore. That was my main source of diamonds!

You can just use energy condensers to turn dirt into diamonds. It takes like 3 minutes from dirt block to diamond.

Is there a way to get from cobblestone to diamonds anymore? The philosophers stone seems to have been nerfed.

Very costly in terms of fuel though, I'd build an Energy Collector first, converts from coal up to Mobius Fuel.

40 coal from dirt to diamond.

And you can turn coal into mobius fuel for free in an energy collector, 1 mobius fuel will do 2 diamonds or so.

Considering you can turn 64 coal into a diamond via IC2 with a few solar panels a macerator and a compressor, it's not that far off really.

Dirt simply does not turn into diamond, it doesn't matter how much compression you do.
