I don't really see the challenge in placing blocks in a line, but alright.

Then again, my house is a ridiculously complex maze of circuitry, pipes, tubes and machinery which performs highly complex tasks and functions so maybe I'm missing some artistic simplicity here? I never understood art anyway.

I went to an art show once. There was a $600,000 painting which consisted of nothing but a canvas covered in navy blue paint with some glitter sprinkled on it, and a silver line through one side. WTF art? Seriously? My 6 year old cousin could make that.

Each one is handcrafted along a specific theme, minecraft punishment, by Vech, a man who hates everything you are.

I have not yet played them, but supposedly each of the blocks you need are in very hard to access/find areas, perhaps covered in traps. It's basically I Want to be the Guy in Minecraft form.

Ahh okay, I understand now. So this is akin to collection achievements. I can understand the difficulty if it's about finding hidden blocks etc.

It's not about finding hidden blocks so much as it's about surviving both entering and exiting 16 hard as nails dungeons. The colored wool is just proof.

(Ok it's more like 14 moderately challenging dungeons and two harder than hard ones)

It's really not about finding hidden blocks at all. In the more recent maps, most of the wool is in large 'Fleecy-Boxes' made of brick, glass and glowstone (i.e. very difficult to confuse with any other structure). The difficulty is in... well, they really have to be played. Extremely hostile environments that actually want to kill YOU, specifically, YOU, because Vechs hates everyone in a strangely affectionate way.

I think my favorite thing about the Super Hostile maps, most obviously Legendary, are the signs he leaves for you. It's like you're on death row, and he is both your tour guide and your executioner.
