He looks like Cthulhu crossed with a starfish, a flayed horse, and a bicycle. It's very messy.

A row of sticks with a 2x2 square of iron below.  Not sure about the diamond handsaw though.  There should be recipes on eloraam's blog. http://nemesis.evalq.net/RedPower2/recipes.html

Found a double ravine today. They make a T shape. The stick part of it hits the surface, and runs from the ocean edge inwards, so the south end of it is just one huge waterfall. The flat top part of the ravine-T is underground, and if it were four tiles lower it would not merge with the other. They is beautiful.
