Monstercraft servers are so corrupt.... In order to do anything, this includes get back to use /spawn, you need to vote them as the best server 3 times. Then pay a dollar to get benefits you would normally get in any other server.

A guy had proof that another guy was hacking their server, admins insulted him and told him they weren't going to bother with him.

Also, would it be possible to switch out .minecraft folders between 1.7.3 and 1.8? So I can play both?

Assuming you have downgraded via MC Nostalgia, or simply kept a copy before upgrading, yes.

Just rename e.g. .minecraft to .minecraft-181, then rename .minecraft-173 to .minecraft .  Or the other way around, of course.

But you have to remember to not allow updates when playing the 1.7.3 copy.  You'll get asked every time you start the game, so you'll have to say no every time.

Unless you tweak things.  The key is the bin\version file.  If you copy it from your 1.8.1 install to your 1.7.3 install, then 1.7.3 won't offer to update.  (Until 1.9 comes out.)

Also look into Minecraft Portable, which can remove the need to do the directory renaming.

So, I can just copy the files in, and not have have to run any mod-loader mumbojumbo and swap bins by hand?

This is legit!

I really do understand your concern as a fellow person that is paranoid of breaking the expensive glow box but if you managed to injure your computer in any way by using a minecraft downgrade utility I would be very impressed. :P

My sister once reformatted two computers over the course of 30 minutes without knowing it.

I'm sure somebody can find a way.

My computer doesn't need 32 systems, I am sure it can get by fine with 31.

My minecraft is leaking memory. A lot of it. I can't play for more than 5 minutes straight. I already tried reinstalling, forcing update, running the jar allocating more memory to the vm... any thoughts?

Just copy both jarfiles into your bin folder, and name whichever one you aren't playing with it's version number.
So if you were playing 1.8 you'd have it named minecraft and your 1.7 jar named 1.7.

When you want to swap, rename your minecraft jar to 1.8 and your 1.7 jar to minecraft.

When you want to swap, rename your minecraft jar to 1.8 and your 1.7 jar to minecraft.

Well I should mention I am going to be installing multiple mods onto 1.7.3, so switching out the jars might cause crashes.

I'm just gonna make 2 separate .minecraft folders and keep them in different locations so I can switch them around.
