How long does it take for day/night to change in indev?
Without going to check, it seems like maybe five-ten minutes. You have enough time to dig some and get some supplies, but night comes fairly quickly.

Playing in creative mode (offline) I was opening an area for a project when I dug through to a lake. Now I realize what they meant by a single water tile can flood the entire world  :-[.

Huh. I'm in indev and the light hasn't changed for a few hours.

Can you see the sun moving? You might be playing the wrong version.

The sun does not move, and I'm playing the version with the thing down the bottom saying there is day/night.

Did you set it as a 'Paradise' themed level?

That has no night.

Or are you playing infdev, rather than indev?

woah I play there sometimes, and I agree with you (albeit I haven't met any extreme cases as that). What's your username?

My mod account was Rolanddeschain and my play account is Shoggoth.

Deep, huge, floaty hell.

No no no. Real dwarves play in paradise, then roof over the sky, turning it into hell.

It would have been nice, but there wasn't an admin, and no spawn jail. Griefer showed up and ruined it.

We got most of the griefer dmg cleaned up.. but still lots of cave flooding down there.

Need to make it private, griefers join off the public list.

And OPs  ;D

In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.
or maybe throw them into the large hadron collider to atom-smash them instead.
Not to mention to throw all available animals into tiny pits.
