The "sawblades" someone noticed in terrain are new explosion effects.
Kinda a wave when creepers go ssss boom

Villages have tables.
Actually they're wooden pressure plates on a fence pole, but that's cool too.

The only real bugs I've found so far are rivers that sometimes don't spill into a cave properly (until a nearby block get updated), firing an arrow in creative mode removes the arrow from your hotbar, villages have problems with hilly landscapes and mineshafts have similar problems with encountering natural caves or ravines.

Also a slight decrease in performance on my laptop, from perfectly smooth to slightly choppy. (both on normal view distance)

Seem to be working fine for me.
Also, Stone bricks are a 1 to 1 exchange rate, and mine back into bricks.

I like the abandoned mines, was exploring a cave and started coming across wooden blocks, so investigated and stumbled into one.

The poison spiders are a PAIN.

New lighting is looking great and I'm enjoying the new combat mechanics. First night in 1.8 I fought till dawn.

This does mean I'm going to get a flood of requests to make my texture pack compatible. I'm a little stuck on a few textures too.
