I still feel like Minecraft needs a grappling hook.

Ever since, when I look at a cool screenshot, I think "man it would be cool to just grapple up there"..

SDK's mods include one. There is guns + equip, or just equip (AFAIR)

Grapple hook is too far but ropes and ladders would be amazing. How they were done in the better than wolves mod pack was ideal.

Idk about the ropes. I don't think you can take them down once you've gone down them. I think the best you can get is something like the fishing rod, where using it lowers your fall speed while dragging you below the "lure" part. Then you can just take it back and not leave ropes everywhere.

Sandworms. Awake in the day, asleep at night, all angry, all desert. Can only dig through sand and sandstone.

And you can saddle them.

Install the mod. Done. (Unless it's N@W or something like that for some reason, just their server crashes from client mods).

Copy your modded minecraft.jar somewhere safe for later, delete the original.  The EXE you launch (if you use the EXE) will download a new fresh copy and you are back to vanilla.  When you want the mods back, copy over that with your backup.
