Pistons. Are amazing. After some experimentation I managed to replicate the awesome door system from the preview video on my giant Spinx statue. Better yet, a second lever on the inside disables the first, meaning it can be locked down at will, no sigh of the door anywhere except for a non-functional lever.

Is it just me, or is there a chasm running along the edge of the beach there? Most caves this deep are usually more 'rounded', and you can see it pop up again further along.

Seems like there could be the possibility of lava/magma down there. But I doubt it's a guarantee.

I LOVE PISTONS!!! After learning the redstone's uses and how to make things from the redstone, I made a secret doorway in the style of those classic bookshelf doors- flip a switch, and a chunk of wall moves back, making you go into a secret room. I also found a way to hide the switch and close/open it from the other side. And furthermore, my entire base is hidden inside a man-made hill. I recently used redestone and pistons to hide the entrance using the pistons and some dirt. I'll try to get some pictures up to show it.

With Pistons I made it so when I pull a Lever a large chunk of stone covers up the entrance to my hideout. No real use for it in singleplayer, just makes me feel awesome
