I like the one chunk wide bit, but you would need to pre-load a lot to get it working.

The easiest way for it to work would be to limit normal players to a certain area with adminium while the OPs and admin head off in one direction. Basically, world overview maps would have a lollipop or barbell-like shape, with the one-chunk area in the middle and the round ends.

It would be pretty easy to generate a large section of map, then save it and use an offline editor to change all chunks with an X other than 1 to blank.

Piston trailer for 1.7. This looks pretty awesome, especially the whole retractable stair and wall set up at 2:35ish.

Arrow traps that slide out of walls would be incredibly badass.

While a freaking cool idea, dispensers are entities (built items, for the most part) and will not move.
