How do I download the Mayday graphics set?

I'm new to DF, and I'm curious how to download the Mike Mayday graphics thing... I really have no clue what to do... do I simply download it in the DF folder or do I need to do some special stuff?

If you look inside the zip file, you'll notice that it's a full copy of the game.

Just unzip the entire thing to its own directory and you're good to go.

Ah... so you have to start over if you were previously using the vanilla set? And just to make sure, I install the graphics set, and use that to play the game? Meaning I should just delete the vanilla version?

you can copy your save file across though, so you don't need to start over. It is in dwarf fortress/data/save

If you're using Mayday's most recent pack, you can move your saves from the vanilla install.  Each save consists of a folder inside /data/save.  Just move it to the same location in the Mayday install.

I think I'll start over anyway. I only played a little bit and I don't like my location. :P No stone almost... I went to a place with an aquifer and I can't find stone anywhere.

EDIT: I went to his website and everytime I download the file it's corrupted.
EDIT EDIT: Nevermind, got it. I just used Chrome and downloaded it.

Agh, new problem. xD I can't seem to adjust the files to get it to fit to my 1280x720 screen. I know the set was made for 1280x1024... so... xD I'm not sure what to edit exactly... and what to edit it too.

I just messed around with it on my own and I seemed to have gotten it. I've been happily playing DF with the Mayday set for 4 hours... just got my first set of immigrants!
