Someone was working on a wagon fortress mod at one point (i.e. making wagons a playable race) I was really excited about it but I think they just gave up after they hit a bit of a roadblock (get it...)

^that pun was as awful as it was unintentional - I must humbly apologise

Toady really doesn't want people interfering with Wagons, somone came up with a system whereby a retractable bridge was collapsed out from underneath a Wagon while it was crossing, which resulted in the Wagon hanging in mid air. Forever.

Wagons can run things over too; i had a Kobold flattened by a wagon.

no its the horses and the merchant on the wagon that hits the one who tries to go under it.

The only creatures that survive the smasher are megabeasts, demons, and the ultra-fearsome wagon.
Although most megabeasts are a bit pathetic, tbh (excluding bronze collossus).  The titan could survive a hit from an atom smasher but not a lone champion maceman.  He didn't even reach the traps surrounding the trade depot.

Rather, he has not had time to make it possible to screw with their 3 tile goodness.

I wonder if you can have wagons in an arena fight? I bet my money on the tower cap one.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.
