I do suggest Toady not stay on his computer too much while ill... It makes things worse and can give you migranes.

Drink Plenty of Fluids and try to make sure your getting more Vitamin C into your diet so if throwing up isn't an issue I suggest getting some Orange Juice.

I'd personally would think Alcohol would be detrimental though I have nothing to really back that up other then Alcohol is often dehydrating.

1. Very strong and hot green tea. Not less than a 500ml ;-)
2. 200-300ml of cogniac (or vodka at least).
3. Sleep for 14-16 hours.
4. Wake healthy.

I try a large jug of orange juice.
Seems to help, although it could just be the coldness of the juice that keep the fever down.

I think cats are good with hearing and sight, not so much with smell.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Hmmm....

I don't think he got his sickness from the meetup. I'm not much of an expert, but I'm sure diseases take a few days to start showing symptoms. ThreeToe managed to get something, so they might have gotten it from the same place.

With enough alcohol, you can surpass the limitations of science.

"Normally I don't sleep at night "

Dare I suggest that as you mature, your sleep patterns should match archetypical Homo Sapiens:
- hunt / fight / gather / work during times when the sun is in the sky.
- breed / play / SLEEP during times when the moon is in the sky.

This schedule has worked well for Tens of Thousands of years, perpetuating the species and allowing for myriad advancements in technology.  Just a thought.

Cats eyes are closer to that of humans and some cats also have rather poor eyesight (Siamese don't)

They however do have a much stronger sense of smell then we do. My best guess is they arn't bothered by smell as much as people are (likely because we are trained to be repulsed by the lightest of smells...)

Although alcohol is detrimental to the human and elf brain, it also posesses antibiotic properties..
So, when a disease is bacterial, a bit of alcohol can certainly help with recovering.. Even with viral infections, like influenza, alcohol can help prevent bacteria taking the opportunity of lowered resistance to add symptoms to the flu.
Apart from that, alcohol is a blood-thinner, so it will slightly lower your fever.. Do not combine with high doses of aspirine or other blood-thinning pain killers.

I liked that recipe.. Ill add mine (actually, my grandmother's recipe against common cold and like illness)

1) Press the juice from 2 lemons
2) boil water, add to lemon juice to make it about 1/3 lemon juice, 2/3 hot water. (No tea, except herbal tea / green tea.. Black teas produce an acid that will make your throat more rough if it's painful already)
3) add 2 spoons of honey (or more, if you like it sweet)
4) add a good shot of strong, clear liquor, like vodka, gin.. (Any strong booze will do, except those ripened in oak wood, like whiskey. Oak wood is toxic.)
5) If you have, add a fresh sprig of thyme, to ease throat sore (If you leave the thyme in your strong liquor for an hour or two before making the drink, the effect will be better)
6) drink while it's hot
7) sleep

Get well soon

Okay, but what's up with Scamps?  ;D ->
"Apparently, if the lights are off and it is night time so that it is pitch black (as it is in my room at night), Scamps doesn't really recognize me and will hiss at me until I say something. So much for that sense of smell. Normally I don't sleep at night so I didn't notice."

I thought that cats can see in the dark just like the dogs...not to mention -like Toady has mentioned it also- their sense of smell.  ???
