Each dwarf is unique in its likes and personality, if not its sincere death wish when it comes to any dangerous, easily avoidable thing.

Out of all of the games I've played over the years, no game has been able to hold my interest so intensely and for so long. My friends all think I'm weird, spending hours upon hours sinking my time into the game.

You've got me hooked, Tarn.
me as well, I'm even hooked on the forums.

This game is definetly addictive. There's so much scope for sandboxing.

And I'm introducing it to as many people as possible, so I can get more ideas. I fully intend to donate when I can.

A tendon in the skull has been torn!
The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

So it goes.

Everytime a dwarf dies, I comfort myself to know that they still exist, as they always will, and always have.
Everytime a dwarf dies, he goes to the place where he was created: to the great ASCII heaven. There he'll remain in a binary form and observe a lot of naked 1 and drink a lot of 0, until he's called back to the Portentous Realm, to complete his goal (die).

Ah, another Praise Toady thread. Well... I totally agree. Mr. Tarn Adams has created the best time-waster (as any pc game for me) I've ever seen. Moreover, he's managed to break a standard "dwarf" cliche, creating a new level of awesomeness. All praise Toady :).

P.S. Damn it, Skorpion, your avatar distracts me from my typing tasks.

I've had this week off of work.  I think over half of the days I've played DF for 8 to 12 hours a day.  I have played at least everyday.  :)

Thank you Toady and ThreeToe...I think...  :)

You know, someday in about 40 years, we'll be able to ask the Elves to help us seige the goblins, invite the humans to live with us, and our fellow dwarves to build us a lava pipeline.

And then we'll look back on the good ole' days.

we'll be able to ask the !!Elves!! to help us seige the goblins

By firing them out of catapaults at the goblins? Of course they'd be menacing with spikes of Wood.

From "Angroshs Kinder" Das schwarze Auge Zwergenhandbuch - (Angrosh Children, the dark eye, german pen&paper, dwarven handbook):
"Elves!? Their men dont wear beards, and their women bathe nacked to lure you into the water and drown you. Thank Angrosh they are as ugly as the day and all big and skinny."

DF is my all tie favorite game and I second all the praise stated in this thread. Also, every single forum i have been on is filled with uneducated, assuming half-wits but the B12 forums are something special. ;D

That's the beauty of this game.  All of the 'uneducated, assuming half-wits' can't figure the game out.  So they think it sucks and it makes this board pretty idiot free.  Leaving a great community.:)

Not that one is stupid if you can't figure the game out.
