If you don't know how to forward ports, you won't be able to host anything. At all.

Also, if you're on Linux, setting ssh up is this simple:

Quote
sudo apt-get install openssh-server

And that's it, anyone can log on to your computer from a remote PC(given that they know the username and password).

Megaman: I hear many people saying that lately, but actually, I found it rather easy compared to Dwarf Fortress(now, THAT game's learning curve is too steep even for me :p)

All these people saying this, have you, in fact, tried other BYOND games before playing SS13? Because if you haven't, you should. I suggest some simple RPG such as Mystic Journey. BYOND was made for that kind of game, so the interface will seem more intuitive when playing such games.

Alright, I'm going to host an older version now, byond://cib123.dyndns.org:1076

I don't know if we have stun gloves/flamethrowers in our SS13 server as the goon one only has them i think, but to keep a regular station with the syndicates, you should probably have like 13 people, but goon has 30 so it chaotic all the time, :P.

My whole system crashed.. And I'm thinking BYOND caused it.. Really weird, you'd think Linux were more stable to be crashed by some stupid BYOND program.. I mean, it's not even running kernel level..

I completely redesigned the engine with the idea of making it more efficient.  Response has been generally non-negative, though it still needs a bit of work to run correctly.  Other than that and escape pods, not much, currently.

ROBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously when I'm the AI it becomes nerve wrecking to have conversations like

AI: Chaplian is in possession of flash and had broken into security checkpoint. (chaplian fixes table and runs away)

Head: Noone is in security AI

AI: He repaired the damage and left.

(chaplian and Head meeet in hallway)

AI: He has hidden a flash in the coffins.

Head: Chaplian is this true?

Chaplian: No.

Head: Ok.

(Head walks away)

You got the APCs repairable already?

How about a way to create pipes?  So long as we're on the "make it possible to rebuild the station when things start blowing up" subject, it would be nice to be able to create/lay/remove pipes.

Pipes are a massive mess, I looked at the code, and they tried some crazy stuff. Rather than deal with that mess, I did the APC fixing. It may not update the graphic immediately once it is fixed, but they should be repairable.

It is quite possible to fix the pipes, but the time it would take to learn the messy system they use...

I would probably find it easier to make buildable SMESs, solar panels, and AI units(last one is a joke, but the other two might actually be easier).

I'll look into the pipes again.

If you can get it, Goon Station has buildable pipes and a pipe dispenser. Not sure if you can get the source though.

Could you possibly explain to us what's wrong with the pipes?

They have a horrid messy system, where theoretically a blob can delete pipes without creating a leak and other crazy undesireable stuff.
