Naturally I am, although this idea comes from someone else. Sadly, I have forgotten his name.

Also, I've got to a point where I can't do much without touching the rest of the code. Next would be tweaking bots' item pick-up code, but it's hardwired into the item code.

I nearly have the first alpha release.
It *should* play online as a server, and it has a *real* map.

I would just like to give you guys 30 minutes in case you feel like being kind and donating a crowbar/screwderiver in hand icon...
Until then, I'll try myself.


(Then if we can get someone to host the first online alpha of SS81... :) )

And to think I was pondering ways to encourage monkeys with a backpack to move in a certain way. (with bananas or something) I now forsee many murders by remote operated explosives delivery bot.

Since we are already adding jobs, why not fix the whole bloody mess?

Here are the jobs that should exist on the station:

Engineer (Combine with Atmos tech. He should REALLY be both.)
Medic (Doctor.)
Researcher (Genetics, chemlab and toxins.)
Security officer (Stays the same.)
Head of Personnel (Replaces captain. This guy is the "manager")
Robotics expert (Tends to robots.)
New arrival (This is what the assistant should be. NO access and has to get a job.)
Forensics expert (Same. But give him more tools to use.)
Security chief (Randomly pick one of the security officers to be the HoS, effectively. Spawns with thermals and other stuff we will implement.)
Repair chief (HoM essentially. In charge of all repairs. BUT NOT LIGHTING THE ENGINE!)
AI (D'uh.)

That's about it for now.

Well, here it is.


First one in gets to be captain, I made held images for all items(there are 5)
The engine is empty, nothing to research, the janitor has the maintainence supplies, but it's a very nice microstation map.

I have a map already, but as REAL features are added, that (50x50x1) map will be too small.

The map is titled primary, as it is the first real map.

I can't host, so no, not unless someone is kind enough..?
It still isn't doing full calculation of air and stuff, and the map is many times smaller, so lag should be much less of a problem, for anyone who can host...

I'll get cracking on designing a practical station once we decide what it should contain.

I mean really. Why the fuck is engineering and atmos separate? Why is toxins separated from medlab? Why is there a storage room full of misc stuff?

Etc.

Basically, once we finalize what the station is, I'll design it.
