Oh and I just realized. Why does glass shatter and have to be welded back into plates while metal is perfectly usable when it's blown off of bulkheads? Can't be that hard to make a scrap metal icon.


Love them both. Also, I like the scrap metal idea, it makes perfect sense. Still is kinda weird you can build a wall with your bare hands but you have to use tools to take it down.. How could we fix that?


Can I get the source files? I can only found the OpenSS13, or Goon's one...
I can get the newest files, for all of us, as soon as I get back on my other PC.


So I was looking through the existing maps--most of them aren't remotely usable--but 'map2' seems to be the original SS13 map, or at least the pre-goon one, and it blows goonstation OUT OF THE WATER like whoa, in terms of design.  Wow.  It looks a lot more griefer resistant (hard to know without playing it though).
A fun side-effect?


I nominate the return of B12 to the map2, since stations should be dureable anyway.

And Plasma storm is already an overkill.

Really? It sounds perfect! I think we should switch to it! Being a traitor is too easy anyway, and I've grown tired of knowing everything about the current map! ;D

force them to use at least a welder and possibly a wrench also when building walls, its more realistic, and not that much hassle for someone who wants to build walls for useful reasons.

(P.S, has anyone else figured out that you can unscrew windows and drag them away to make a door, without having to break them. just screwdrive 'em)

Also- This is bizzare, the fire extinguisher? It does more damage then a toolbox, but it can fit in a toolbox, it can even fit in your pocket. You can't even fit a damn power cell in a toolbox.  :-\

Random small explosions on the station, can REALLY mess things up.

id say it cannea fit in anything but a backpack (possibly not even that!, possibly creating a smaller item (small extinguisher or some-such) to fill the original role, giving it half-1/4 the amount of water as a regular one, doing the same damage as possibly a wrench. this would fix a lot of problems.

Whee!  I'm about 2/3 done with the first sector of my modular station!  It took a few hours and I'm not sure I'm even happy with how this is turning out.  Mapping is hard!

i thought the fire extinguisher was better at breaking windows, but the toolbox was better at bodily damage?

GASP! I come just in time to say:
NO! NO reverting to the old one. It might seem better, but its missing alot of usefule stuff, the engine is much harder to light, toxins only has one heater, the toxin test chamber is STUCK to the station, its generally much harder to move around the station as a whole, there are escape pods which WE HAVE BEEN WARNED ABOUT (the 'dwarf bomb', remember?), and many other similar things.

So, if you want to revert to the old one, please fix these things before doing so...
