Both the aliens and the plants seem like good ideas. I take it you just watched Alien 3 recently. Hmm, speed, stealth in darkness, strength, can't hold anything bigger then an ID card(so they can get through doors without having to do a separate Z level for ducts, though if we limited access to the aliens it might be possible without having problems with the cameras.) vulnerable to something random every round, might be interesting. The plants won't be useful until breathing is added in.

If he has the same rules and is hosting it for bay12 players why should he change the motd or name?

In my MoTD I pretty much say, 'Hello, My name is Johbson, I host this server, if something is wrong, contact me, Johbson in the Bay12 forums." Which, as you can imagine, can cause alot of problems.

I'm going to risk a post about suggestions.

New Sectors
  • Bio Dome: A dome of glass that has a small park inside, with trees and alien/Earthly creatures inside. This could replace/work together with Atmospherics, and plants inside would exchange CO2 with Oxygen. There would also be valves to the outside of the dome, for refilling of oxy-tanks.
  • Alien Research: This room would start off with an alien from a random-pool of aliens each with special abilities. Researchers of said Sector would try to learn these with tools and use high-tech tools to find the more common traits, and use methods such as gassing to see what it breathes, etc. It could also be used so that DNA would be extracted and taken to Genetics for cloning.

Both are Major Changes, but they would be awesome if implemented. Right now it seems like SS13 is a soap drama than anything else.

Also, whatever happened to that Zombie gamemode?

(Sorry if these are already here, I've been away.)

The Bio-Dome has been mentioned, and is being worked on, (I think..) by Floirt, but I think it was delayed until we can un-bug as many things as we can and change the map around a little bit.

For the Alien thing, I think that would be awesome, and I'm always up for changes to genetics.
Speaking of which, I've had some ideas-

First of all, I think we need more then 14 blocks with 3 sub-blocks. Maybe a "Primary SE" and a "Secondary SE," Which, have no difference, really, just a place to hold more, and to still be organized.
Second, add a bunch more dieases, super powers, strange traits, and other fun, bizzare things. I don't know how the code works, but I think this would be awesome. However, the blocks enlarging would have to come first, as otherwise it would probably be too crammed and easy.

Ideas for Fun Genetics-Added Stuff, because I can

-Has to breathe in Plasma. Might be hard to do. Also, need some kind of sprite change, so people know whats going on. Maybe this could be the basic alien, without any other alien traits?

-Aether Realm. Basiclly, another Z-Level, an exact copy of the orginal station, for easy, undetectable, stealth, if you have the right injectors.

-Laser Vision. You can shoot lasers from your eyes! Should be easy to do, maybe.

-In lue of my annoyances of playing Elona, random teleporting, every few minutes/seconds. Very, very dangerous, as you can see. Not to mention bloody annoying.

-Regenerating. After you die, exactly 4 minutes after, you revive again. Need a sprite change on this one too, for sure.

-Filled with Mad Violence. This one, will be something. You get a message, telling you "You are now allowed, and it is your new mission to, murder everyone you can see." This will NEED a sprite change, to avoid greifers. But I think it could be an awesome addition.

More Genetic Addition Ideas

Well, before, I just came up with some mainly good ones, but most of these will be bad.

-Living Time Bomb. You have two minutes until you explode. Nice and simple. Equal to small, 500 degree bomb. Now its bad news when people steal monkey/human corpses!

-Healing Touch. You now have the ability to heal people, at a price. You can give your life to revive someone, you can almost kill yourself to heal very damaging wounds, or you can be both blind and deaf for 30 seconds, to lightly heal someone.

-Plasma intolerance. Once you come in contact with a very small amount of plasma, you die, instantly. Choice to start with, because we need more.

-N2O intolerance. Same as plasma intolerance, but with N2O. Choice to start with, because we need more.

-Water Vision. Like Laser vision, but it fires a very small amount of water. Not useful at all, but can be funny.  ;D

-Sword Hands. Unable to use your hands, but now you have high damage swords for hands.

Can't think of anymore right now, but thinking of new ones is very fun. ;D

Go to this file: code/hubs.dm
There is this line: name = "Bay Station 12"
Change it to this for example: name = "Original Bay Station 12"
Go to "Build" in the menu on the top and select "Compile".
That will update the game files.

Go to this file: code/hubs.dm
There is this line: name = "Bay Station 12"
Change it to this for example: name = "Original Bay Station 12"
Go to "Build" in the menu on the top and select "Compile".
That will update the game files.

You can also see who is hosting the game on the BYOND web page for SS13: "Hosted by Johbson"

you would need a sprite change, not just to the body, but to all the items, as someone could cover ther body. maybe just make the entire character turn red?

I really like the idea of adding stuff to genetics, and here are some ideas of mine:

-For the healing touch, just make it exchange life for a 1:1 ratio. That is, if the guy has 50 fire damage and 10 brute damage, you'd have to inflicf 50 fire damage and 10 brute damage to yourself to heal him.

-Invisibility. Same as cloak but on all the time. If that is overpowered, make it randomly turn on and off, or have it inflict damage constantly while its on, or something.

-Very long breath. Can stay in vacuum or toxic gas for much longer.

Nameless is a preoblem. He hosts our version, keeps claiming He is B12. On thge other hand, he lets griefers play, and spawns himself weapons.

Glad you like the ideas, plus I already think theres an invisible super power..I could be wrong, though. Probably am.

I wouldn't be surprised it was an attempt of sabotage, really. But we can change the name of our server, and people will catch on, sooner or later.
