i wouldnt say for major offenses either, as i have heard of people stuffing bombs into a backpack on an unconsious guy which could lead to some serious misunderstandings.

I didn't mean banning quickly for major offenses. Banning quickly is wrong pretty much all the time.

Seriously Sowelu. I'll tell you what I mean by every point:

--Bombs: I dont mind people detonating bombs in general. I dont mind them detonating in the test chamber. But here's something that happened last week on the server: Some guy made a 1000 degrees bomb, announced on radio that he has a bomb and will blow it up, admin teleports to him to see whats happening, he blows it up AND A GOOD CHUNCK OF THE STATION EXPLODES, COMPLETELY DEPRESSURIZING THE REST OF THE STATION.

He wasnt the traitor, and we know he wasnt helping the traitor. He willingly ruined a perfect round fer everyone for no reason. Isnt that a insta-ban offense? If not, remove my adminship please.

I think the problem here is a misunderstanding of the term "insta-ban". Poltifar seems to think if you are not "insta-banning" you are letting someone have another chance. Sowelu seems to think "insta-banning" means to ban automatically. When you guys banned the person with the bomb, you were not insta-banning, because you took the time to get the information. (that he was not the traitor, and that he was not helping the traitor) The way I interpret the word is quickly banning at the first sight of griefing, without taking the time to get evidence or hear other stories.

So:

Banning automatically, without giving much of a thought or hearing other stories: Bad

Banning without giving a second chance for major offenses: Good.

I think we can all agree on this.

Is that what you mean, Poltifar? Because, yeah, you don't have to give someone a second chance if they just blew up the station.  ;D Just make sure you ban the right guy(s).

Also, to play on our servers you first need to go to byond.com and download their program. Sign up and do a search for SS13. When we host a server, it is usually public so click on the play now button and scroll untill you find the baystation 12 server. You can also add Johbson to your friends and you will be informed when he is hosting.

Oh, so servers are not permanent? That explains it. I was playing on a public server, a station that had been hit by meteors and abandoned. Hilarity ensured. Especially when I welded my way into deep space.

Why are the people so violent? In a single round, I was pushed into an oxygenless room, slashed to near-death with glass shards (twice) and thrown acid on my face before someone finally beat my unconscious corpse to death.

The medbay saved me from around -170-190 two times, but on the third time it was on fire and poisoned.

The button doesn't show people who detonated a bomb. It shows only those, who have made a bomb, so it's even less helpful. And I suspect something is wrong with it, because I have seen particularly large explosions with the engine claiming no one ever made a bomb. And it couldn't have been Toxins one or Syndicate one, because they are way too weak

Might as well just delete toxin research job.
I cannot count how many times I had to bomb my way through walls just to get to AI or escape shuttle. Or to destroy blob. Or to go on glorious SUICIDE MISSION to take down the traitor.

Nah. The button checks whoever has had a bomb in hand, so if you defuse one, you show up in the list.

On the subject of bombing, I suppose revs CAN blow up the station, too, amirite? I love to blow up the brig, courtroom and security in that mode.

I think we should make this into DEFAULT, then adding an admin command for that to be disabled GLOBALLY (for malfunction and revolution mode) or per-person (when somebody REALLY need to use the bomb at a normal game)

Of course, more coding required.

Edit: Of course, that person needs to admin-help first. And then, he may arm the bomb.

Or hell, just apply it to station-destroying bombs. A normal bomb (to sap walls?) should be OK, I think...

Might as well just disable toxin research. Syndies get a bomb from their uplink,m after all. Normal crew does not need bomb, Normal crew does not need main aspect of station - Toxin Research.
