Indeed. No non RP reason to visit most of the station, and unless the traitor gets really creative, since lets face it, non traitor type events are mostly races to either escape or kill the AI. A four compartment setup would be nice, with maybe security headquarters in the middle of the square, connected to the middle of each of the inter compartment tunnels. Naturally on security could go through there.

Lemme whip up a map this week, just to see how the flow looks.  It probably won't even load successfully, but maybe someone could open it up in an editor and see what they think.

Concerns:  Might be too easy to sabotage if there's not plenty of toolboxes in every module.  After all, Goonstation doesn't have any airlocks in the main corridors, but this would have airlocks between each module which could be a problem when there's an AI traitor or something.  Important to balance "can't grief everyone instantly" versus "must be possible to sabotage when sabotage is necessary, if you're smart".

Same deal as in the base station, Main hallways only have fire locks. Or maybe an air lock with 2 reinforced glass windows flanking it.

*Yawn* I didn't even sleep today. Too busy playing Half-Life 2.  :P

Also, yeah. I love the "multiple separate stations which are in fact one" idea. Even better: You separate them completely. Since you can load pods with stuff, (I think), you could set up a shipping system between modules! You could have, say, engineering sending power cells to all the station in this manner. It would be AWESOME. And you could still have Atmos working, because pipes can be laid in space, I think.

Maaaan, my eyes hurt. I'll take a nap and upload in a random amount of hours between 2 and 12.  :P

I just had a funny thought for a new mode, or at least a new random event. Grues.

If the lights go out in the station, grues start coming out. I figure it could be dead players controlling them if they want. Naturally, the message from CentCom would be "You are likely to be eaten by a grue." Naturally, if they are exposed to light, say from a flashlight, they would die instantly, but could respawn elsewhere. Not sure if its possible though, but it would make for an interesting addition to reclaim mode, if that was ever enabled.

I think it would take a lot more work then it would seem at first glance since it requires large balance changes to be feasable and in some ways... Fun.

Also the Laser should be a one hit kill weapon against Grues as well.

Could be fun I guess, Not sure if a Flashlight should instantly kill them. Though melt them slowly certainly makes sense.

Again, it was just a thought. Maybe an admin only event when everyone just starts behaving like the dark doesn't really exist, or a silly mode where respawn is enabled, and the goal is to start the engine with limited life flashlights. Definitely not a normal occurrence though. Though now that I think about it, it could be simulated already with admin powers during a normal game. Anyone in the dark without a light source could be teleported into space, with the message broadcast announcing that X was eaten by a grue.

Yes, I know that's wierd, but it could be humourous in a less serious game, like when theres only a few people on.

That does sound like fun.  But I think, for now, we should let Floirt do other things. ;D

Anyway, bringing the server back up.

Heh Id suggest new modes of play but I am better at ideas that require quantity then Quality apperantly.

I mean my current idea was that someone plays a Space Ghost who can possess a person of their choice, to the player they fall unconscious, and they need to stuff...

And this is kinda where my idea kinda falls flat.

Yeah I can't come up with anything that isn't too much work to get it done. (Such as a Droid Rebellion where a few players play Droids who are more durable versions of ordinary players. They can't destroy vital systems as they want the station in tact. Their goals are it secure the captain, engine room, and AI room) A Stalemate can happen if the Engineering room is destroyed.

Thus did I prove I am not any better.
