I don't know. Easily enough to power the station, since the combustion takes place in a far smaller space then the normal engine, but I don't know exactly how much. I do know it gets fatally hot even in a fire suit or space suit.

If you have decent engineers, the prototype should be close to being started before the engine gets close to running at full power. Of course, there is the small problem that you can easily make massively overpowered bombs down there if you can get through the heat, but thats part of the fun.

Also, for those engineers who don't know yet, once you fire up the engine, TURN OFF THE RIGHT HAND CO2 TANK ON THE HOT LOOP. If you don't, your pumping in room temp CO2 and stopping the CO2 thats been running for about a mile through the engine from hitting the heat exchange.

Wait what are we talking about, prototype what prototype?

Is the prototype engine the thing on the other side of the powerless door that is exposed to space located to the west of the normal engine or is it the really small thing to the east that is supposed to spin when you put plasma inside of it?

Or is it something else, oh and by the way the thing I am thinking of is the open source V1.0 station you can get from the main site, not the one we seem to be using so it is very likely that I do not even have the placement of the stuff right as I have never been inside the engine room on the not V1.0 station, which I guess must be the one that I saw the one time that I have played so far, which was two days ago.

It's something that doesn't exist until the engineers do a very special thing.

ie: Raiding the EVA storage.

The prototype engine is a small module south of the airlock west of EVA. You don't need to raid EVA to get to it, a firesuit and a gasmask with internals is enough. You do need to be intelligent about it though, and closing the doors behind you is part of that so you don't get blown off. Simply have to make a bridge and if you want line it with windows. Then drag a power line down it, fix a few holes, fill the needed items with the right gasses, and boom, you got massive power.

I vote only B12vers get to go in the server. That way, we won't have massive taser battles 5 minutes into the game.

You guys seem to have a different definition of griefing than me. I have never been what I consider griefed. If some guy blows up part of the station for no apparent reason, that's griefing. If somebody welds half the station into closets, there are a couple things that can be happening:

1. He is the traitor.

2. He is RPing something

3. He is griefing.

You guys seem to always skip number two. RPing is what the game is all about and sometimes people have to die for a good RP to happen.

Yeah, a few times a grief I've done(never on B12, always on goon servers) has been transformed into RP by the other members of the crew.  Other times some tard beats me with a fire extinguisher.

There's an admin function to finding out who the traitor is. We use it when we need to identify. We ban griefers on sight and try to restore the situation.

RPing a crazy guy is all nice and dandy, but when you're griefing people, it's not.

Don't forget. I RPed a doctor on a very short fuse. I was crying in the courtroom over how some noob fucktard didn't administer CPR to a guy I could have saved.

I just had a wonderful idea. We should make our own wiki, too.

Dude. I am so writing for that. Gives me something to do for summer vacation.

We shall adapt the articles from the old wiki...

Eventually... We will need a website...

OH SHIT MAN! WE WILL BE FLOODED WITH NOOBS!

Don't post weaponized recipes in the wiki.  We can't be letting fagtards learn just to grief us.  If they really want it, they can go to the goon wiki.  We should also call it ss13.weinerlabs.com, since theirs is donglabs.

They explicitly tell you on the chemistry page not to post recipes. The goons aren't that stupid.

The problem is people can CHOSE what they want to roleplay so there needs to be obvious boundaries to what they can and cannot do.

I mean... Sure let me roleplay an insane sociopath and Ill just blow up the engineering bay. I am perfectly in character so what is the problem?

Or maybe Ill play paranoid and think the captain is the traitor and kill him because he is writing in a book that obviously is secret information he is giving to the enemies.

As a rule of thumb Id say NO to any "Timebomb characters" or rather characters who are set up in such a way that they are bound to be destructive.

I always start my RP as a dedicated worker, and go from there. It just seems to make sense to start from square one, which is doing your damn job. It pisses me off when I start as an engineer, and there are 6 others with me, and 5 of them run out of the engine room first thing.

This is due to the "Accepted Metagaming" aspect of the game.

They are off getting their Airtanks, Fireproof clothing, and whatever you need to survive the first five minutes of gameplay.

Actually being an engineer and getting the Flame Clothing and Airtank makes SOME sense since you can be injured just doing your job without it. (Why the world did they make the engines like that? ohh wait I remember because the Space Station is an insurance Scam)

Or better case scenario: They are not on duty

If they left and never came back... Yes there is a problem.

Gentlemen.

Today, the goons tried to troll our server.

We have attracted their attention.

We are officially toppling the Goon monopoly!
Damn, can't belive I missed that. My sister just HAD to give birth at such a crucial time...
