after building a securiton [security robot] we tested it out.. it seems to work with a few oddities:
1.) it wouldnt arrest the HoS [intended i assume]
2.) its behavior couldnt be changed by the roboticist [i didnt have access]... im not sure if this intended or not

Also: HoS has no access to forensics.

Yea, how ever, loading music slows it down ALOT dosint it? If not, I would love it.

"We interupt this broadcast for an important anouncment from the Captain, live from the brig. Stand to the tune of the station anthem."

OWWW yea.

First, I reccomend midi for it, as the files would be small.

Second, by referencing it within single quotes, it loads the file from the resource cache(or adds it to it) so that players download the (already small) midi files when they join, rather than when played.

Does my greys get approval or should I work them over a bit?
Edit: Actually come to think of it, they'd probably blend in perfectly with the floor... Oops?
Steam message me, Saint.
I can give you a few tips if you want.
But they look pretty good.

Space DJ sounds like it would be an interesting job. News and music, brought to you CentCom's propaganda division.
This is your local Syndicate propaganda news network, bringing you the best propaganda since 1772

Crap, double post.

Do you even know what p2p means?

It should be ok to use public domain songs.

I have been referring to the possibility of ~8 second long midi loops, that would be contributed by the community, and could be layered by a "DJ" to make something vaguely resembling "music".

Give it a consistant speed and length, make them generally loop, sort them by category (drums, baseline, etc.), let the player select one or more to play for each "step" of the "song", and maybe save up to four "songs" to their client save...

I'll, if I can successfully create midi tracks, prepare a tech demo in an otherwise empty DME. If it works out, I'll add it to git.

Edit:
Quote from: the help files
Currently supported music types include MIDI (.mid or .midi), and module formats .mod, .it, .s3m, .xm, and .oxm. Supported sound effect formats include .wav, .ogg, .raw, .wma, and .aiff.*

Do you know what .mod and similar files are?
Imagine midi where rather than letting the OS play it back, it contains sound samples that are then each used, with pitch adjustment, as an instrument. This means very good compression.
Example:
One file I checked was 700 KB. Psycle rendered it into a 40 MB .wav. It is 4 minutes long. ~3 kbps?
Another is 16 KB, 20 MB wav, 2 minutes long.

If you want to make background music, do it in midi(inconsistant playback on various OSs though, as if each one was played by a different orchestra) or some module format(you cannot convert a song to one of them, however, so you must find/create one already in one of those formats). Ogg is acceptable, but almost undoubtably larger, and it does use lossy compression...

It's specifically Torrenting.  Not just sharing.  Which seems pretty stupid to me, it's not as blanketing a coverage as it should be.
...Do you know what a torrent is?

This isn't p2p and it isn't file sharing.  You might want to brush up on your terminology before you start making claims like that -_-

The Theme Hospital songs would be perfect.  If only Bullfrog/EA would release the rights.
