I've always considered the theme song for SS13 to be Flight Response as the lyrics were so appropriate, plus it starts out with alarm bells and screaming.  I'm not so certain it would work as a constant BG song though.

What if the DJ could "mix" midi-based tracks, up to three looping layers?

Expand it to allow song formats, select a drum track, and maaybe some others for each chorus/verse/whatever, then play it over the radio, so that people can hear it...

Edit: Somewhat like Dave's Phat Beat Machine, but with the concept of sections using different combinations.

Actaully, no, that was fixed
That restart was west restarting a bit late, after planning to do it during the downtime between rounds

Yea, that DJ idea, I brought that up awhile ago with the "Dead Kiwi" waiting room. Aparintly its a bad idea because people would spam it etc. But I like the idea my self.

To prevent spamming, lock it to a single frequency output, only have one of it, and make it so that it is either playing or not playing. Have a few radios set up to listen to it. How can you spam something that is either off or on, and uses audio stored within the resource cache in midi format?

The game downloads the music seperately, from my experience. You can cancel the download of music through a server thingy. I wouldnt mind music, just please dont make it longer than like, say, 15 seconds a piece. Plus, people could turn on a radio next to me and lag me out, then proceed to taze me.  :o

A 15 second station anthem would be cool.

The reason the lag is there is that the music bits aren't being included in the RSC download, so they're sent as needed.  that can be fixed by just including them in the RSC.

How ever, doing that MAY cause people to become angry about downloading "large" files of music for "no reason". I'd do it my self. When in home next, i'll see if I can get making some dub-step  :D
