about the ship designs back a page. Some look nice, others don't, but they lost the whole "more then one z-level thing" which is supposed to be integral to our new design..

you could use the last publically released goon sourcecode: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5D3GLNSF
or the last publically released bay12code [which is quite, quite some time ago, and i dont have the link onhand]... Then you could modify it or make new maps or code as you wish... [but you should make sure you credit the right people]
However, the only people who have the most recent bay12 code and are allowed to host are those who are very well trusted people who have been around for awhile and contributed in some way to the project... and thus have a investment in it. This will not likely change.. ever.. If you wish to become one of those people, you could search this thread for the last bay12 code that was publically posted, or the goon code, add something cool or amazing, then give it to the current developers and they might be willing to trust you with the more recent code.

The reason mono is being short with you, is because about 1/2 the posts on this 910+ page thread are people asking/demanding/requesting the sourcecode and then being shot down... and most people are quite tired of having to explain it. Sadly the OP can't be changed [he was banned], and likely it will be asked again, 2 pages from now.

I'm bored, and when I'm bored, I start making ship designs, even though nobody wants them anymore :p

This is a ship. I think I included all rooms. The black is space, so there is space between the main body and the wings. This allows for easy lockdown of one section of the ship. The bridge can also be placed a bit more to the front, with one or two space walkways between it and the main deck, this would allow for an effective bridge lockdown as well, but two bombs - or cables cut - and it is completely useless. That's why I opted to keep it attached. The rest is fairly self-explanatory. I tried to mimick the designs of arrival and supply (never change a wining formula and stuff like that.) I forgot escape pods, but just add a corridor between medbay and bar, and between eva and suppy, and there is enough space to add an escape pod room. It's not perfectly safe, for instance someone with atmos access (acces?) could weld into plasma, but it is safe enough for a station that will explode anyway. Also, the middle deck should be a bit larger, so there is more room for engineering (an extra storage room) and the AI. Maintenance corridors are not added because I know nothing about how piping and electricity should go (and the corridors follow these, right?). Oh, and maybe more escape pods next to the bridge, so the heads have a better chance to escape, which is how nanotransen would want it.

I do like that design, but I can see one or two problems with it.

First, we unfortunately can't do angled shuttles without them looking like crap, so the arrival shuttle couldn't be placed like that.  Second, I don't see much room in that design for maintenance tunnels.  It's got a lot of promise as a design, though.

2D space station just seems weird to me.

Any way we can make it behave ring-shaped? Like, wraparound?
