Hmm, this thread is getting more active every day, or maybe im getting less active. One of the two.

Also, please, please, please, dont make me use Steam. It is the worse thing I have ever had on my computer, and I dont want to have to go through its problems again.

For example, Steam is handy dandy for people that have cable, or satalite internet. However, the people employed at Steam seem to have basically said "We hate dial-up users, lets prevent them from playing games" and made it maniditory to update games that need Steam. This means, for a more specific example, that I have to download the 2 gig update for Empire: Total War.

Only way I could solve this is move my tower to work, connect it, update my games, and put them into offline mode. If I EVER want to play a new game with Steam, or even use Steam, I will have to update those same games again, and will be unplayable till I do so.

words can't be quoted because out of habit Saint still uses IE.

Then don't use steam for the games smarty.
Or buy steam games retail, like Just Cause 2 requires steam because it is the DRM it uses.
Steam is the best DRM known to date because it isn't intrusive and has a offline mode, it also allows you to purchase games directly from it in a simple manor and install them when you so choose.
You can also use a great community feature and messanger like X-fire but intergrated into the program, it also have a in-game overlay that allows you to use the features and also browse the internet.
Orb, you don't even need a super connection really, just get like 1 or 2 mb a second connection and everything goes smoothly.
But out right hating steam is a little extreme for the features it gives you and the fact it is a game purchasing software,DRM,X-fire clone all in one and is the only DRM that doesn't treat you like a criminal.

I would also dislike having to use steam.
I feel that using steam would separate a large group of out users and make them feel excluded, this, I believe is called Elitism.

That and it's a slow as hell piece of crap DRM.

What's all this fuss about steam? As far as I understood it was just the easiest way to contact Johbson.

Yeah, there's no need for it. I have it, but I don't use it for much bay12 stuff apart from talking to sukasa about some dev stuff.

Also, the drm on it isn't bad, I have garrysmod installed on about five computers(one overseas) and i've never had a problem.

We've been a bit distracted from it, but it's going to get done eventually. Most of it already works

Fun Fact: Byond runs at 10fps

also an error
Code: [Select]
runtime error: list index out of bounds
proc name: setterm (/obj/machinery/pipeline/proc/setterm)
  source file: newpipe.dm,62
  usr: null
  src: the pipeline #166 (/obj/machinery/pipeline)
  call stack:
the pipeline #166 (/obj/machinery/pipeline): setterm()
makepipelines()
: New()

This came about after the update.  I'll reimplement the fix ::)

Specifically, something causes the game code to create an additional /obj/pipeline object, but with 0 nodes (wtf, right?).  Then, when setting up the pipe, it throws that error.

E: Oh, I see, qwerty commented out the "fix" because it caused some obscure problem or another.  K, I'll take that into account when I fix this.
