I think a frame works better for the airlocks, but it was only an idea (which I stole from this page).

I dislike the round design, it doesn't seem to me that any round door would work well.
However, the Fire Door pretty much looks perfect, give or take a bit of shading. Though you did say that's just basic, and for that purpose it's fine.


Heres my version of the Fire Door Susaku put up..


Shaded it a bit, and lowered the piston docking point to the floor

They look perfect to me, less colourful than the original but actually firedoor looking instead of just an airlock. Definitely liking the animation with pistons, too.

They're good, but, to me at least, it looks more like they're swinging than sliding shut/open. Possibly because you squashed them rather than the alternative, whatever that is.
