Or we could find a way to get a host to keep it running indefinitely, so we have one reliable server we can go to anytime.

Like I said. Find a way to make it publically visible on both the website and the hub. We can ban the idiots and have some real proper high quality games going.

We're going to make Slurm's server look like a CSS server.

visible on the hub, it is easy. but you would have to make it public then. unless we host our own hub.

That's what I'm saying. Make it public. I want Bay12 games to go public and be happening around the clock. Drop in, drop out.

We have a large admin list. Odds are, one of them will be in the game. If not, the people being griefed/witnessing the griefing can report the culprit to the admins. We will send them to the banhammerer.

Question: How do we deal with Guest-x griefers? We can't ban them all, can we?

(Note: I believe the numbers are randomized each time, I hope this is not correct.)

Unless we could ban I.P., then it's all becoming simple, like BURNING ELVEN CARAVANS WITH MAGMA!

We seriously need a fantasy/df-ish ss13-like game.

Anyways, is anyone currently hosting? If yes, please change the server's name to Bay Station 12 or something like that so that it can be recognizable.

Hey guys, I just joined Bay12.

But anyways, yes, I was the person who introduced Broose to ss13.

If you want to start a server, SVN the files and run them using dreamdaemon. It's byond's little server hosting thing, not hard to use. I would host the server myself, however I have DSL, therefor I have horrible upload speed. This would cause the game to lag so much, the game would be unplayable. IF you have DSL, don't even try to host your own server.

Another thing is that some routers won't host, I don't know why. A firewall could also be disallowing the server to run.

Guest numbers are their IP addresses.

Slurm's server is utter crap. Most games I get shot or toolboxed or tazered within 5 minutes, most times for no reason. Last game, I was gibbed by an admin as soon as I arrived on the station. That was fun, start walking down the hallway then BOOM, pieces everywhere.

Actually, ALL of the servers run by Nannek/Stuntwaffle/Showtime or Lorden suck.
You can get griefed for no reason, then tell the admins and they will continue to ignore you until after 3 to 4 adminhelps. At that point they mute you.

We don't want to be like that. You see, if we actually HELP the user population and make our server public, we could gain a respectable amount of players.

Hey so I didn't see any servers up, so I am hosting a private one now.  No admins right now besides me but this is a pretty decent community
and you have a good chance if you're not a chucklefuck.

I've been admining for a long ass time, but never hosting. We'll see how this works and hope to see you on

Also I browsed this thread pretty hefty and didn't see an IRC channel for us. Is there one? If not, how about irc.newnet.net baystation13

edit: Turns out this is an old (oh no the clown job!) and incomplete version, like half the placed items missing aren't showing up. Anyone got a newer version?

I'd help ending this monopoly and all, if only I could figure out how to bypass my ISP's main router to host the game. If that's even possible.
